Two dredging vessels, owned by FSUE Rosmorport’s Arkhangelsk, arrived at Sabetta seaport (Yamal) earlier this week to perform scheduled dredging operations in this area.

According to the company’s press center, the trailing suction hopper dredgers Severnaya Dvina and Beloye More will be involved in the dredging operations within water areas of Berths No 2-4, technological berths and the Sabetta access channel.

Under the agreement, FSUE Rosmorport will dredge about 500,000m³ of sediments accumulated between seasons in the navigable areas and to ensure safe navigation depth.

The dredging operations will cover an area of about 4.2km².

Rosmorport Starts Dredging Works in Sabetta Seaport
The Severnaya Dvina and Beloye Morye dredgers of TSHD 2000 design were built in 2016 and 2018 respectively. They comply with requirements on operation in harsh climate conditions of the northern region. The ships fitted with high performance dredging equipment can operate in waves of up to 2.0 meters. It should be noted that during the internavigational period of 2018-2019 these vessels were deployed for repair dredging in sea ports of the Baltic region: Ust-Luga, Big Port St Petersburg and Kaliningrad.
